Earth Night 2012: A Great Success!

Over 300 guests joined ELM on May 5th at the Back Bay Events Center for Earth Night 2012, featuring wonderful performances by the Boston Arts Academy drum ensemble and the a cappella group Firedrill.

ELM honored WalkBoston for its tremendous success promoting walkability in Boston and beyond (accepted by Executive Director Wendy Landman). ELM also honored Eastern Bank for greening the retail banking industry (accepted by Eastern President Bob Rivers).

Former CLF President Phil Warburg joined us with his important new book Harvest the Wind and donated all the proceeds from the night to ELM. And our special guest, Jim Braude from NECN and WTTK-FM, was a great auctioneer.

Special thanks to the twelve incredibly hard-working volunteers from State Street and to Classic Communications for once again helping to make the evening a success. An extra special thanks to new ELM board member Bethany LeBlanc, who led the way and volunteered countless hours this year to help plan and execute Earth Night.

We are grateful to the many corporate and individual Earth Night sponsors, as well as the many auction item donors.

It was a fun evening, but most importantly it raised funds to support ELM's work to protect the land, air and water of Massachusetts for its people and wildlife.
