Alex Bok, Chairman

Alex Bok is a seasoned in-house counsel and public affairs professional with more than 30 years of experience in law, business, and government, who uses his knowledge, drafting and information-gathering skills to help companies understand and then shape and maximize their strategic and legal environment. He is particularly skilled at leveraging government offerings and minimizing potential regulatory and statutory hurdles. Mr. Bok has extensive experience in the clean energy and automotive sectors as well as managing complex litigation. He is especially knowledgeable about the evolving federal/state regulation and development of the autonomous vehicle industry and its potential impacts, both good and bad, on other industries. A leader and adviser, faced with a business challenge, Mr. Bok is a creative and entrepreneurial problem solver and strategist, drawing on his broad experience as general counsel and business development director for a wide-range of venture-backed technology start-ups, as a well as law firm partner, lobbyist, and the founder or co-founder of several companies.

Mr. Bok is Corporate Counsel and responsible for Government Affairs for Cadenza Innovation, a battery-technology start-up focused on the automotive and grid storage markets which has been funded by clean energy agencies in three states and the federal government (DOE/ARPA-E). Previously he was the general counsel for Boston-Power, a leading lithium-ion battery manufacturer. Before that, Mr. Bok served as general counsel and/or a board member for several businesses, including two national public affairs firms, Rasky Partners and the Dewey Square Group, along with a number of venture-backed technology start-ups. Before that, he was a partner at Dangel & Fine, a Boston law firm. He previously served on the board of the Boston Board of Health and Hospitals and the Massachusetts Solid Waste Commission. Mr. Bok currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Sherrill House and remains an active member of Trinity Church Boston and the Bay Village Neighborhood Association. He is a graduate of Harvard College, Boston College Law School, and Harvard Business School. He is a member of the bar in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. Mr. Bok is a life-long resident of Boston, married with three grown children.
