Sophie Oehler

Sophie Oehler joined ELM in July of 2025. As Communications Manager for New England for Offshore Wind, she supports the coalition of over 100 organizations in their collective mission of combatting climate change, increasing New England’s clean energy supply and building a sense of pride and action-oriented change for offshore wind development in the Northeast.

Prior to joining ELM, Sophie worked as Communications Coordinator for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests in Concord, NH, after serving as their Communications Intern in 2022. At the Forest Society, Sophie supported land acquisition campaigns, furthered statewide education in sustainable forestry and responsible recreation, and connected with natural and human communities across the Granite State.

Sophie holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont in Political Science where she served as an Opinion columnist for the Vermont Cynic and reported for the Vermont Community News Service.
