Parks & Water Lobby Day

Join your friends and fellow park and water advocates from around Massachusetts for an exciting Lobby Day at the State House this fall! Meet with legislative offices for your Representative and Senator to urge them to support increased funding for our state agencies charged with stewarding these precious resources.

If you are unable to join us on November 2, we encourage you to meet with your legislators in their district offices in late October/early November.

Training materials, talking points, and an online training will be provided in advance. Breakfast will be provided. There will be a limited number of spaces available for organizations to host informational tables.

The main event will be held in the Great Hall at the Massachusetts State House.

10-10:20: Arrive, check-in/get materials, breakfast
10:20-11: Welcoming remarks from Environmental League and event co-hosts. Remarks by government officials including Environment, Natural Resources, Agriculture Committee Chairs Senator Anne Gobi (Spencer) and William Pignatelli (Lenox), as well as Rep. Carolyn Dykema (Holliston), Senator Jamie Eldridge (Acton), Parks Caucus Chair Senator Michael Rush (West Roxbury), and Rep. Dave Rogers (Cambridge).
11-11:20: Advocacy 101 Training
11:20-11:30: Q&A
11:30-Noon: Constituents find their groups and depart for their meetings
Noon-3pm: Meetings with legislative offices

After meetings, constituents will be asked to turn in feedback forms. We will have a room in the State House for constituents to check out.

Co-hosted by the Environmental League of Massachusetts, Appalachian Mountain Club, Massachusetts Organization of State Engineers and Scientists (MOSES), Mass Rivers Alliance, the Trust for Public Land, and other members of the Green Budget Coalition.
